He is gaining trust again in homosapiens..thanks to you. I think this is an indication that he was once a home -pet who was abandoned.

I think most strays (although not all), even if they weren't home cats previously, would eventually feel comfortable enough to make contact with their feeders. A good example is MC's Hougang Mei. It took many months of weekly coaxing and getting friendly with her, but when she finally made contact, it was bliss! :)
